Thanks to owner Joe Edwards, who has been collecting Chuck Berry memorabilia since he was a teenager before he ever met Chuck Berry, Blueberry Hill has the largest collection on permanent display in the world. That sounds wild but we actually have more pieces than the Smithsonian and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, although they have fantastic collections you should see as well.

So after you snap your picture with the Chuck Berry Statue across the street and visit his St. Louis Walk of Fame star in front of Blueberry Hill, come inside to see what we have!

Be sure to see an old concert poster of Chuck Berry over the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin at Fillmore West. And Chuck Berry and the Doors playing New Year’s Eve at Fillmore West at Winterland.

We have many items from the making of the movie Hail! Hail! Rock & Roll and items from Chuck Berry’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

We also have a cast of Chuck Berry’s hands playing the guitar. It’s surprising how large his hands were.

We have a rare old poster from Chuck’s early days in which the Crank Club in St. Louis spelled his name incorrectly. They listed him as “Chuck Berryn.”

And Chuck Berry and the Doors playing New Year's Eve at Fillmore West at Winterland.

We have an old Rolling Stone cover from 1969.

Owner Joe Edwards first started working on bringing a vintage, fixed track trolley to the Delmar Loop in 1997. Now, nearly 20 years and much hard work later, the first trolley car has been delivered to St. Louis. Joe is thrilled. They’ll soon begin testing the trolley car on the route. In several months, the Loop Trolley will be up and running for the public!

It will connect the Delmar Loop with Forest Park and two MetroLink stations.

Everyone knows that there is always something new and fun happening in The Loop. This summer is set to be especially historic because right now, as we type, construction is underway on the long awaited Loop Trolley!

That’s right, at this very moment construction crews are working to lay tracks in the far western section of The Loop. Delmar is open and traffic is flowing smoothly. So come on out to The Loop for some shopping, or a bite to eat, or to catch a show and while you’re here be sure to check out the progress on Loop Trolley!

See You Soon!

Hello devoted Blueberry Hill Blog fans!

We are back with another edition of the Blueberry Hill Blog Memorabilia Spotlight. This time around, after our signature quick and haphazard selection process, the spotlight has landed on a native St. Louisan and the king of the explicit party record. You may know him best as TV’s Fred Sanford, or by his given name John Elroy Sanford, but the name he chose for himself was Redd Foxx.

It is certainly a great honor to have your likeness captured in the form of commemorative bobblehead doll. It’s unclear whether it is a greater, lesser, or equal honor to being inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame and having a brass star and informational bronze plaque laid into the hallowed concrete of the sidewalks of Delmar Boulevard. Redd would be the perfect person to ask about this particular hierarchy of accolades, alas he has gone to a better place. At least we have plenty to remember him by!

Next time you are in The Loop check out Redd’s star on the Walk of Fame (6331 Delmar) and then pop in Blueberry Hill and see his bobblehead doll in a case in the Dart Room. You’ll see him nodding along with his old pals Hef and Mr. Bill!

Until next time!

Patio season has arrived, let us rejoice!

Celebrate the return of lovely weather by enjoying some food and drinks with friends on Blueberry Hill’s lively sidewalk patio! When you spend time at one of our comfortable outdoor tables everything you order comes with excellent people watching and boundless fresh air. A cold drink is all the more enjoyable in the gentle spring sunlight. St. Louis’ best burger is at its most delicious accompanied by a draught beer, out of doors, on warm spring evening. Need proof? Our patio opens at 11am daily.

You there! Step right up and behold the fabulous, splendiferous, ice cold spectacle that is the 2015 Loop Ice Carnival. It’s the coldest show on earth!

St. Louis’ favorite family friendly celebration of all things icy is back in town for one weekend only, January 16-17. Bring your spouse, and your kids, and your grandparents, and your neighbor that you’ve been meaning to get to know better, and the old gang from high school, and that nice guy from the deli counter at the grocery store and come on down to The Loop while the carnival is in town!

We’ve got penguins, and stilt walkers, and human dog sled racing, and dollar bills frozen in ice cubes that we’re just giving away, and you can bowl with a frozen turkey! There will also be ice carving demonstrations, and fire performers, and synchronized hooping, and snowballs and put-put, and laughs, and smiles, and drinks warm and cold!

The whole shebang kicks off Friday night at the Moonrise Hotel for the annual Ice Carnival Snow Ball where attendees are encouraged to wear whimsical winter wear and dance the night away. Then Saturday its a full day of wintery wonderment starting with our frozen buns run 5K at 10am.

Be there and be cool!

You are standing in the verdant green of one of the largest and most beautiful urban parks in the country. A warm early fall breeze brushes across the afternoon. Amongst the happy families and assembled humanity, you drink in the bursting colors of scores of half-filled hot air balloons.

The throaty scream of one, then dozens of powerful gas burners announce the imminent start of the Great Forest Park Balloon Race. As the launch approaches, balloons ripen before your eyes, attaining their full size, itching to leave gravity behind.

Finally The Hare can wait no longer and gently takes to the sky. Thirty minutes later, as the rest follow suit, the sky seems to be wearing polka dots of every color. Slowly, calmly, the balloons drift away, eventually fading from sight. As the ground crews load up their trailers you realize that all this balloon racing has stirred a hunger inside you. Lucky for you Blueberry Hill is only minutes away.

Be sure and join us this weekend before or after The Great Forest Park Balloon Race!

Looking for something fun to do this weekend?

Come to The Loop on Sunday, August 24, and witness first hand the amazing show put on by the American Motordrome Wall of Death Company.  These guys came to town last summer as part of the St. Louis Cycle Showcase and we were blown away.  Don’t miss your chance to see these daredevils riding vintage motorcycles on the 16 foot tall vertical wall. It’s one of those things that can’t be oversold. And while you’re in The Loop checking out the motorbikes and soaking up the thrills, if you find yourself getting a little hungry or thirsting for a beverage, swing by Blueberry Hill and we’ll take care of you!
